Zambia increased copper production by 8%

Zambia is Africa's second largest copper producer. In 2025, 890,346 tons of copper were mined, compared to 825,523 tons in the previous year. The increase was 8%, but more than 100,000 was not enough to reach the stated goal of 1 million tons.
The demand for copper in the world is constantly growing, especially in the mechanical engineering and energy sectors, so the Zambian government has set a new goal for the country's mining industry to increase copper production to 3 million tons by 2031.
