West African countries will recycle their garbage

Experts from Benin, Ghana, Gabon, Haiti, Cameroon, and Togo gathered in Lomé to address the issue of solid waste pollution in the cities of Francophone Africa.
During the meeting, recommendations were developed for government authorities to reduce the amount of household waste in cities and create new jobs in the collection, sorting, and recycling of recyclable materials.
The rapid growth of African cities poses a serious challenge to waste management. According to the World Bank, Africa's urban areas currently generate over 200 million tons of solid waste annually, and this figure could reach 700 million tons by 2050.
