Uganda to buy planes for $1 billion
The Government of Uganda has announced an investment of 3600 billion shillings, or about 1 billion US dollars, to expand the fleet of Uganda Airlines aircraft.
According to Works and Transport Minister Fred Byamukama, these funds will be used to finance eight Boeing aircraft and two cargo liners, which will be delivered from 2032.
Uganda Airlines is not only replenishing its fleet of aircraft, but also increasing its route network. In early August, the airline introduced new weekly flights to Kigali and Accra, which are scheduled to begin in November and October 2026, respectively.
