Uganda has launched a new cashless payment system for transport

Ugandan firm MoMo has launched Code Yo Maali Yo, a nationwide campaign in partnership with the Boda Boda Union to accelerate the adoption of cashless payments across Uganda’s transport sector.
The campaign seeks to transform the way millions of daily transport payments are made by promoting safer, simpler and more inclusive digital transactions.
The initiative is based on the use of the MoMo Code, which allows passengers to receive instant payments, enjoy free withdrawals and earn daily rewards, while allowing customers to pay seamlessly without incurring additional charges.
