There will be 675 new hotels in Africa in 2026
According to the W Hospitality Group's published report ""2026 Hotel Chain Development Pipelines in Africa" the African hotel sector will reach a record high in 2026. There will be 675 new hotels with 123,846 rooms on the continent.
Egypt is the undisputed leader in the hotel business, with 45,984 new rooms opening, followed by Morocco with 10,606 rooms.
The countries of East Africa (Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania) show the highest construction rates, exceeding 75% compared to the previous period.
