Burundi has its own payment system

The authorities of Burundi have announced the launch of the national instant payment system, BurundiPay.

The platform is expected to expand access to financial services, increase transaction efficiency, and support broader economic activity by enabling individuals and businesses to transfer funds instantly and securely.

Burundi has become the 22nd country in Africa to introduce the national payment system.
