Business and investment in

Africa

Africa is the 2nd continent on Earth in area with a great amount of natural resources.  There are more than 50 countries with fast growing economies and 1.5 bln population here. Africa today offers big opportunities for business and investment.

The 26th East African Trade Fair will be held in Rwanda.

The 26th Exhibition of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises of the East African Community (EAC) will be held in Kigali from October 30 to November 8, 2026. The fair will bring together manufacturers, buyers and investors, as well as promote brands from East Africa through initiatives such as "Buy if Made in East Africa."

This year, the fair will focus on the leather sector, which is experiencing a clear increase in demand and a shortage of supply. For example, the demand for footwear in the Asia-Pacific region is expected to reach approximately 385 million pairs by 2030, while local production is only around 17 million pairs. Most of the footwear is imported, including from the EAC countries.

Another important focus of the fair will be agriculture, which continues to play a key role in the African economy. Agriculture accounts for more than a quarter of the gross domestic product of EAC countries and provides livelihoods for millions of people.
