Textile factory for 10,000 jobs opened in Ghana

Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama inaugurated the export-oriented textile factory Northshore Apparel Ghana Limited in Savelugu, Northern Region.
Currently, the 40,000-square-meter enterprise has about 50 production lines that are designed to produce T-shirts, polos, hoodies, children's clothing, sportswear, underwear, leggings and trousers.
More than 2,300 direct jobs have already been created at Northshore, and the number of employees is expected to increase to about 10,000 when the plant reaches full capacity. 80% of the available jobs are reserved for women.
