Tanzania and Kenya to increase mutual grain trade
Tanzania and Kenya have confirmed their commitment to expand joint trade in major grains, in particular white corn and rice.
The agreement was reached during a conversation between Tanzania's Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Gerald Mweli, and Kenya's Principal Secretary, State Department for Agriculture, Dr Kipronoh Ronoh in Nairobi, Kenya.
During the meeting, issues of increasing strategic food stocks and ensuring regional food security in East Africa were also discussed.
