South Africa to develop Gabon's mining industry

The South African Geosciences Council and the Ministry of Mines and Geological Resources of Gabon have signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
The Memorandum identifies four key areas of cooperation: exploring the geological potential of Gabon, training personnel, attracting investments and broad support for the development of the mining sector in Gabon.
The Geosciences Council will support Gabon on a range of projects, including geological mapping and resource assessment, identification of areas with valuable minerals, recommendations for increasing commercialization and investment readiness, as well as advisory support on strategic mineral development and planning.
These efforts are expected to generate interest from South African mining companies and investors seeking opportunities in Gabon's mining sector.
