Senegal's economy grew by 7.9%

According to the ECOWAS Investment and Development Bank (EBID), economic growth in Senegal was 7.9% in 2025, which is the highest in West Africa.
The growth was driven by the start of oil and gas production and an increase in agricultural production.
The regional lender forecasts 4.1% growth in 2026, while warning that high government debt and budget constraints could negatively affect future investments.
