Rwanda will modernize agriculture
The Ministry of Economic Planning and the Ministry of Agriculture of Rwanda presented several long-term financial initiatives to transform the agricultural sector at the African Food Systems Forum.
The total package about $14 billion, includes an Sustainable Landscape Management Investment Framework for the period up to 2050, the Fifth Strategic Plan for Agricultural Transformation for the period up to 2029, and an Investment Plan for Agriculture taking into account climatic conditions.
The main initiative presented is the Sustainable Landscape Management Investment Framework. The total cost of this program is $9.2 billion. The initial stage is scheduled for 2030. At this stage, it is planned to invest about 2.3 billion dollars in agriculture.
