Rwanda will develop solar energy

Rwanda and the International Solar Energy Alliance (ISA) have signed a strategic partnership agreement. The development of solar energy will provide the country with more than 900 MW of additional energy in the next 3 years.
According to the roadmap, solar energy will be widely used in agriculture, the transport sector, and housing and communal services.
The University of Rwanda will open a Resource Center for the Application of Solar Technologies (STAR-C) to train engineers, technicians and entrepreneurs in the field of renewable energy sources.
