Prospects for the oil and gas sector in Africa

The African Chamber of Energy (AEC) has published a forecast of the continent's energy development for 2026. The report pays great attention to the oil and gas sector in Africa.
The industry's leading countries are Algeria, Libya and Nigeria.
According to the forecast, oil production in Algeria will remain at the level of 3 million barrels of oil per day and 200 billion cubic meters of gas, half of which will be exported. Gas projects such as Tin Fouye Tabankort Sud and In Amenas II are scheduled to begin in 2026.
Oil production in Libya and Nigeria will exceed 2 million barrels per day.
There is potential for major discoveries in Zimbabwe, Angola and Namibia. Countries such as Gabon, South Sudan, Mozambique, Uganda and Equatorial Guinea are also planning to develop oil production.
