Nigeria to build railway by the end of the year

The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that major work on the Kaduna-Kano-Maradi railway line will be completed by December. Currently, the project is approximately 60% ready.
The Kano-Maradi Railway line is a 393 km long single-track standard gauge line under construction between Kano in northern Nigeria and Maradi in southern Niger.
The project includes the construction of 80 suspension bridges, 34 railway bridges, nine underpasses and 74 culverts.
It is expected that after the completion of construction, the trains of this railway line will carry 9300 passengers and 3,000 tons of cargo daily.
