New railway will connect Uganda and Tanzania

Uganda wants to connect a new railway line it is building with a railway under construction in neighboring Tanzania, according to a government document. The African Development Bank can finance this project. The document also mentions the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which may later join the new railway.
If the project is implemented, a new route for the export of minerals such as gold, copper and iron ore will appear.
Uganda currently ships the bulk of its exports through the Kenyan port of Mombasa.
