New opportunities for high-speed wireless communication in Nigeria
Taara, a provider of high-speed wireless optical communication technology, has announced the continuation of its collaboration with Liquid Intelligent Technologies, to expand high-capacity connectivity and strengthen network resilience across Nigeria.
This partnership has enabled Liquid Intelligent Technologies to build high-capacity transmission lines from its data centers in Africa and Nigeria to large enterprises located within and beyond the reach of fibre networks.
Over the past two years, Liquid has deployed nearly a dozen Taara wireless optical communication links across Lagos, providing high-speed connectivity to large enterprises while improving network resilience for internet service providers, banks, hotels and a utility company operating in key commercial districts.
Taara technology uses highly directional beams of light to transmit data over the air, which provides bandwidth of up to 20 Gbps over distances of up to 20 kilometers. This technology allows operators to establish high-capacity communication lines within days rather than weeks.
