Mozambique will develop ports

The authorities of Mozambique have approved a package of amendments to the shipping legislation, bringing the rules in line with international standards.
Previously, such aspects as freight, displacement, unloading rules and others were regulated by the regulations of the 60s of the last century, which discouraged international maritime operators from working in this area.
Legislative changes are making Mozambique's ports competitive in the Indian Ocean shipping market, which is of interest to Chinese projects in Zambia and Tanzania.
There are 10 ports of various sizes operating in the country, but only a few of them can boast of a normal infrastructure and economic profitability. The next step after the amendments are adopted will be the development of port infrastructure and logistics routes.
