Mozambique fully paid its IMF debt

At the end of March, the Government of Mozambique fully paid its outstanding debt of 515 million special drawing rights (USD 630 million) to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
As part of the latest loan program, the IMF approved the allocation of about 468 million dollars to Mozambique in 2022. It was planned that Mozambique would pay off this loan and interest on it until 2029, but the government decided to pay off the debt ahead of schedule.
