Mauritania launched national cloud

Mauritania officially launched its national cloud in Nouakchott, during a ceremony held at the capital’s Data Center under the supervision of Minister of Digital Transformation and Administration Modernization Ahmed Salem Ould Bedde.
According to the ministry’s statement, the infrastructure aims to host public data and digital services on national territory to strengthen cybersecurity and the continuity of public services.
The national cloud is part of Mauritania's broader digital transformation agenda launched in 2021, which aims to increase the digital sector's contribution to the country's GDP to approximately $700 million, or nearly 8%.
