Liberia's GDP will exceed 5% in 2026-2027

The Liberian economy has demonstrated resilience in 2024-2025, with real GDP growth increasing from 4% in 2024 to 4.6% in 2025, mainly due to mining, agriculture and active private consumption supported by remittances and public infrastructure spending.

Inflation dropped to 6% in 2025 from 8.2% in 2024, reflecting improved fiscal discipline and monetary regulation. Meanwhile, the stability of the exchange rate and moderate credit expansion indicate gradual macroeconomic stabilization.

Fiscal consolidation efforts have significantly reduced the budget deficit from about 7% of GDP in 2023 to 1.8% in 2025, helped by increased mobilization of domestic revenue and rationalization of spending.

GDP growth in 2026-2027 is projected to exceed 5%, supported by the expansion of the mining industry and agriculture, while inflation will continue to decline.
