Liberia to build more than 600 km of paved roads

The Liberian Ministry of Public Works says that by 2029, more than 600 kilometers of paved roads will be built in Liberia as part of a national infrastructure development project.
According to Deputy Minister Samuka Dunnoh, the government initially planned to build 485 kilometers of paved roads, 1,000 kilometers of main roads and 2,500 kilometers of secondary and access roads over two years, however, thanks to the support of the African Development Bank, the World Bank and private financiers, the scope of the program has been expanded.
The total length of roads in Liberia is more than 13,000 km, but only 1,211 kilometers are paved, as a result of which access to some territories is limited, which slows down the economic development of the state.
