Lagos Police have opened a video surveillance center

The Lagos Police Department, Nigeria's largest city and port, has announced significant progress in applying technology to law enforcement by opening a new video surveillance center.
The center is designed for round-the-clock monitoring of strategically important facilities, waterways and land transport routes, which will prevent crimes and increase public safety.
The center employs trained staff who will monitor the broadcasts in real time and coordinate the rapid response to law enforcement incidents.
