Kenya supports local traders

The spokesperson for the House of Representatives of Kenya, Hussein Mohammed, announced a 90‑day period for the legalization of foreign nationals doing business in Kenya in order to comply with immigration requirements, obtain work permits, registration, and licensing.
President William Ruto also ordered an expansion of the scope of the local content bill, assigning certain types of entrepreneurial activities to Kenyan citizens. This measure is a response to complaints from Kenyan traders about foreign competition in the small‑scale trade sector.
