Kenya may become the African center of the "Grammy"

Panos Panay, President of the Recording Academy—the organization behind the Grammy Awards—met with Kenyan President William Ruto to discuss a project to establish a headquarters for the world-renowned music organization in Nairobi.
During the meeting, the Academy President highlighted Africa's strengthening position in the global music industry and announced that Kenyan artists would travel to the US next month to gain insight into the international music business.
The Recording Academy aims to expand its presence in Africa by opening a headquarters on the continent. Kenya is vying to host this hub, competing against Nigeria and South Africa. The Kenyan government has invested $3.9 million to promote its bid.
