Kenya has 9 million new mobile subscribers
According to the Kenya Communications Authority, 9 million new mobile devices were connected in 2025. The total number of active SIM cards has reached 51.36 million, while the total population of Kenya is about 58 million people.
Kenyans use mobile communication not only for communication. The mobile payments penetration rate is 98%, indicating a mature market where future growth will depend on usage intensity, transaction frequency, and integrated services.
