In Tunisia, mobile payments grew by 81%
According to the Central Bank of Tunisia, the total volume of mobile transactions in the country reached 8.4 million transactions in 2025, which is 81% more than a year earlier. The number of digital wallets in use has grown to 815,000 from 595,000 in 2024, and the network of payment service providers has expanded from 368 to 435 organizations.
The Central Bank of Tunisia attributed the increase to several strategic initiatives aimed at reducing dependence on cash and increasing access to financial services.
An 81% increase in the use of mobile payments occurred along with a 25% increase in the total number of electronic transactions, while traditional payment methods experienced a marked decline.
Statistics show lasting changes in consumer behavior as mobile solutions become the main tool for daily purchases and money transfers throughout Tunisia.
