Huge diamond found in Botswana

Lucara Diamond Corporation has announced the recovery of an exceptional 1,305.4-carat diamond from its Karowe Mine in Botswana. This diamond became the tenth gemstone weighing more than 1,000 carats extracted at the deposit since the beginning of production.
Over the past 10 years, a 2,036-carat rough diamond (2025), a 2,492-carat Motsvedi diamond (2024), a 1,758-carat Sevelo diamond (2019) and a 1,111-carat Lesedi La Rona diamond (2015) have been found at the Karowe Mine.
A new white gem-quality diamond was recovered intact using X-ray technology, which is designed to detect and recover large diamonds without exposing them to the crushing processes.
