Guinea will sell bauxite through a state-owned company

The Government of Guinea and the Guinean state-owned bauxite mining company Nimba Mining Company (NMC) have signed a mining convention that will allow the country to directly mine and sell its bauxite.
The Mining Convention provides special treatment for NMC's activities in the areas of taxation, customs, environmental protection and social services, as well as providing the company with the necessary transparency for long-term investments.
NMC, established on August 4, 2025, has already extracted 5 million tons of bauxite and plans to produce and export 10 million tons by the end of 2026, and reach annual volumes of 12 million tons from 2027. After processing the extracted bauxite, the company will build a plant with a capacity of 1.2 million tons per year.
