Guinea will process gold domestically

Guinean President Mamadi Doumbouya announced a major reform aimed at ending raw gold exports and promoting local processing.
According to the national broadcaster RTG, the head of state held a strategic meeting with stakeholders from the industrial, semi-industrial and artisanal gold sectors, as well as gold trading houses, to discuss the transition.
The new measure is part of Guinea’s strategy to increase value addition and strengthen the contribution of mining resources to the national economy.
