Ghana to build 1,200 MW power plant

Speaking at a meeting in Koforidua Municipality, Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama announced plans to build a 1,200 megawatt gas-fired power plant.
According to President Mahama, to achieve this goal, the government has attracted Jubilee partners and ENI, which have expressed their willingness to invest $2 billion and $1.5 billion, respectively, in the country's gas infrastructure.
The implementation of this project will increase the installed electric capacity in Ghana to about 6,000 megawatts and provide electricity to homes and industrial enterprises in the country for the next 10-15 years.
