Gabon modernizes railway

Gabon signed a €225 million agreement in Nairobi to finance the third phase of the 648-kilometer Trans-Gabon Railway reconstruction.

The project, supported by the International Finance Corporation, also involves the European Union, the French Development Agency, and the railway company Société d'exploitation du Transgabonais (SETRAG).

The project aims to increase rail transport volumes in the country from 9 million to 21 million tonnes by 2029.
