Foreign direct investment in Ghana increased by 323%
According to the Ghana Investment Promotion Center (GIPC), Ghana attracted US$2.61 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) in 253 new and existing projects in 2025. This is a 323% increase compared to 2024, when foreign investments totaled $617.61 million.
New projects registered by GIPC accounted for $1.44 billion. The Ghana Petroleum Commission has registered 18 projects totaling $994 million. The Ghana Free Zones Authority has recorded new investments in the amount of $165 million.
China is the leader in the number of investment projects (currently, Chinese companies are implementing 70 projects in Ghana), while the Cayman Islands is the leader in terms of FDI, having invested about 500 million dollars in the Ghanaian economy.
