Ethiopia attracted more than $4 billion in investments
Ethiopia attracted $4.32 billion in foreign direct investment during fiscal year 2025/26, an increase of 8% over the previous reporting period. These figures were published in the annual report of the Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC).
During the fiscal year, 528 new investment licenses were issued, which is more than 100% better than the previous result, and products worth US$ 225 million were exported from the country's Special Economic Zones, which is 80% more than the previous year.
Experts note that the latest data reflect Ethiopia's position as one of the fastest growing investment destinations in Africa. This progress has been made possible by the country's ongoing economic reforms and government efforts to attract productive, export-oriented and technology-driven investments.
