Ethio Telecom expands operations in Africa
Ethiopian state-owned telecommunications company EthioTelecom has unveiled the "NEXT HORIZON: Digital & Beyond 2028 Strategy", which aims to transform the company into a globally competitive enterprise with digital capabilities capable of becoming one of the leaders in technology and innovation in Africa.
The company's development outside Ethiopia has already begun. In February 2026, Ethio Telecom, Djibouti Telecom and Sudatel Group signed a trilateral strategic agreement to deploy a high-capacity cross-border fiber optic cable that will link Ethiopia, Djibouti and Sudan.
