Equatorial Guinea is interested in Russian energy

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held talks in Moscow with his counterpart from Equatorial Guinea, Mr. Simeon Oyono Esono Angue. The ministers exchanged views on various topical issues on the global agenda and discussed trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
Among the promising areas of cooperation are the oil and gas industry, geological exploration, electric power industry, fishing, and the military–technical sector.
The parties announced their intention to step up work in the nuclear energy sector and allowed the construction of low-power floating nuclear power plants in Equatorial Guinea. A separate meeting will be held with the participation of the management of Rosatom to discuss the details.
The ministers also agreed to work out various mutually beneficial projects with the participation of such Russian companies as Gazpromneft, Power Machines, and Rushydro.
