Electric tuk-tuks appeared in Kenya

Electric vehicle manufacturing company Skoot Technology has launched an electric three-wheeled vehicle in Kenya.
The new model of the tuk-tuk with replaceable batteries, called the Skoot e3W, has been tested for two years in Nairobi under various loads and road conditions.
Three-wheeled vehicles can be rented daily, weekly or monthly. To use it, it is enough to install a mobile application on your phone.
The launch of the new service comes amid a growing demand for electric vehicles in Kenya. According to Kenya Power, the number of electric vehicles on local roads increased to about 35,000 at the end of 2025, up from 5,294 in 2024.
