Egypt's food exports reached a record $4.5 billion

 

 

Egypt's food exports reached a record high of about 4.5 billion US dollars in the first seven months of 2026, an increase of 10.7% compared to the same period last year.

 

The Arab countries remain Egypt's largest food export destination, with products worth about $2 billion in January-July, up 7.6% from a year earlier. The European Union (EU) came in second place, with exports rising by 18.6% to $1,008 billion from $850 million.

 

Saudi Arabia is Egypt's largest food export market. The volume of supplies of goods to this country reached 363 million dollars, which is 19% or 59 million dollars more than last year. The United States is in second place ($290 million), followed by Libya ($196 million).

 

Frozen strawberries remain the largest export commodity, which brought in 558 million dollars, which is 7% more than last year. Concentrates used in the production of soft drinks are in second place (368 million dollars), followed by edible oils (298 million dollars).

 

Chocolate showed the most significant growth among the main exported goods: exports almost doubled to $262 million, an increase of 114%, or $140 million. Ready-made fresh vegetables and fruits, animal feed, semi-finished products based on cereals and biscuits, sugar, juices, flour, salt are also in demand.
