Egypt to build 500 MW solar power plant

The African Development Bank Group’s Board of Directors has approved financing of up to $66 million for the first phase of the 500 MW Dandara solar project with a battery energy storage system in Egypt.
According to the Bank, the project, valued at more than $290 million, is expected to begin operating in early 2028, generate around 1,373 GWh of clean electricity annually and create about 2,500 construction jobs.
