Djibouti's economy is growing due to ports and logistics

In 2025, Djibouti's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 6.7%. In 2025, Djibouti's real gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 6.7%, after 6.8% in 2024, mainly due to port and logistics services, telecommunications, energy, trade and construction.
Logistics and port activities remain the main engine of growth, due to the country's strategic role in regional trade, while investments in telecommunications and energy are gradually contributing to economic diversification.
In the future, 2026-2027 is expected to maintain growth rates supported by investment and trade. However, the country remains vulnerable to global market fluctuations, geopolitical crises, and tightening financial conditions.
