DR Congo and Uganda agree on strategic cooperation

The Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda signed six memoranda of understanding in Kampala on May 11, 2026, during President Felix Chisekedi's visit to Uganda.
The agreements cover issues of security, trade, infrastructure and energy cooperation. The two governments also discussed cooperation in the oil sector.
In 2024-2025, the volume of trade between the two neighboring countries reached almost 962 million dollars, an increase of 29% in two years.
