Côte d'Ivoire is preparing to host the African Economic Conference

The African Development Bank Group, the United Nations Development Programme, and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development will jointly host the 2026 African Economic Conference in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, from 9 to 11 July. The theme of the event is "Strengthening Africa’s Geopolitical Autonomy and Trade Resilience in a Multipolar World."
The conference will bring together politicians, economists, and public figures from around the world. Expected participants include leaders from the African Development Bank Group, the United Nations Development Programme, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, the World Trade Organization, COMESA, ECOWAS, African ministers, and executives from major international companies.
The conference will feature the following sessions: Strengthening Africa’s financial agency in a multipolar world; Harnessing the trade, investment and economic productivity nexus in a fragmented world; Deepening domestic capital markets in Africa; Harnessing Africa’s human capital for inclusive development; Global uncertainty, macroeconomic stability and development financing in Africa.
