Benin will train 2,500 specialists for agriculture and energy
The Government of Benin and the African Development Bank have launched a youth training program. 2,500 young people will be able to acquire a specialty and undergo an internship at enterprises in agriculture and energy.
The project for the development of skills for employment in priority sectors, is designed to open up new prospects for young people who aspire to receive education and a profession in demand on the market. Interested candidates can apply on a special platform.
The project, with a total cost of 57.7 billion CFA francs (about $100 million), combines investments in learning infrastructure with direct support for youth employment. The infrastructure component of the project includes the construction of agricultural and vocational secondary schools in three municipalities.
To ensure the widespread availability of this opportunity, the National Employment Agency of Benin conducted an awareness campaign in 77 municipalities from 1 to 5 June 2026. At meetings organized with the support of local authorities and African Development Bank specialists, young people were provided with information about available training programs, selection criteria, and application procedures.
