Benin shows strong economic growth

According to forecasts by the African Development Bank, after a jump of 8.1% in 2025, Benin's economy is expected to maintain a steady growth trajectory (7% in 2026 and 7.1% in 2027), supported by solid fundamentals and structural reforms.
Fiscal discipline and resilience mechanisms mitigate short-term shocks. As a result, continued consolidation of public finances is expected, with the budget deficit projected at 2.6% of GDP in 2026, followed by 2.4% in 2027, compared with 2.8% in 2025.
