Algeria relies on tourism

The Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI) has announced the allocation of new sites for tourism development. This was stated by Omar Rekkache, Director General of the Agency, during an information day dedicated to the role of Algerian television in promoting Algeria as a tourism destination.
Investors who are willing to develop the tourism industry in the country will be offered plots in the coastal and southern regions. Special attention is paid to the southern provinces such as Timimoun, Djanet, El Oued and others, which have significant natural and tourist resources and have great potential for desert tourism.
According to AAPI, a total of 280 tourism projects worth more than 257.5 billion dinars, equivalent to almost 1.94 billion dollars, were registered between November 2022 and May 2026. These projects are expected to create about 17,000 jobs as Algeria seeks to diversify its economy through tourism development.
