Algeria and Niger sign oil and gas agreement

According to the Algerian Ministry of Energy and Mines, on March 24 in Niamey, Algeria and Niger signed a hydrocarbon cooperation agreement.
The two countries agreed to work together in the oil and gas sector, from the exploration of new fields to the processing of hydrocarbons and the sale of finished products. The agreement also includes training and technology transfer.
The agreement covers key assets such as the Kafra field, the SORAZ refinery and the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline.
The amount has not been officially disclosed, but it is known that the construction of the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline alone is estimated to be over $13 billion.
