Africa's rating will be evaluated by an African agency

AfCRA, the African credit rating agency, which is headquartered in Mauritius, plans to launch operations in the second quarter of 2026.
The Agency will assess the creditworthiness of African borrowers such as States, municipalities and corporations. In the future, the agency plans to enter the markets of Europe and Asia.
African countries expect that the new credit rating agency will allow them to significantly save on external debt and credit checks.
