African countries will monitor climate change from space

In April 2026, Kenya, Egypt and Uganda launched a climate monitoring module created in Africa to the International Space Station, which was an important step towards technological sovereignty.
The system uses artificial intelligence to track floods, droughts and agricultural problems in real time.
According to the International Meteorological Organization, extreme climate events have become more frequent in Africa in recent decades, underscoring the need for local data collection and early warning systems.
