Africa is becoming more attractive to investors

The Global Investment Risk and Resilience Index 2026, published by Henley & Partners, shows significant progress in a number of African economies. Nine countries from the continent now rank among the world's 100 most attractive investment destinations, compared with just three a year earlier.
The index covers 226 countries and territories and is based on nearly 3,000 data points. It assesses five categories of risk (political, regulatory, inflation, currency volatility and climate), as well as eight resilience indicators (governance, innovation, economic complexity, climate resilience, social progress, fiscal capacity, human capital and adaptive capability).
Within Africa, Mauritius remains the continent’s highest-ranked economy, placing 61st globally, followed by Tanzania (62nd), Botswana (63rd), Seychelles (79th), Cabo Verde (88th), Namibia (90th), South Africa (95th), Morocco (98th) and Tunisia (100th).
