A solar water supply system has been launched in Uganda

The Izinga solar water supply system worth 1 billion Ugandan shillings (266 thousand dollars) has been officially commissioned in the Rukungiri district, which will provide drinking water to 23 settlements. The capacity of the water supply system is 45,000 liters of clean water per hour.
The Ministry of Water Resources and Environment signed the construction contract with Nexus Green Limited in September 2025. In 8 months, the contractor installed a solar energy system, built a pumping station, sewage treatment plants, a tank for storing clean water, pedestrian paths and fences.
